Indonesia's new finance minister Suahasil Nazara said the government still has capacity to issue foreign‑currency bonds in the remaining three months as it finalises borrowing plans. Parliament approved this year's budget this week and the ministry is preparing next year's borrowing programme. A global rise in yields — which has pushed US Treasury rates to their highest in more than 20 years — has also lifted Indonesian local yields; Indonesian government bonds have inflicted nearly 8% loss on dollar investors year‑to‑date. Indonesia last accessed international markets in May, issuing $3.45bn of dollar and euro bonds.
