National Electricity System Operator (NESO) warned Tuesday of potentially tight
power supply as wind generation is expected to fall sharply overnight. NESO
projects a possible 1.9 GW shortfall between 1500 and 2300 London time, larger
than the warning issued Monday evening. Cold weather is lifting demand; volatile
forecasts may force rapid reliance on gas-fired plants to fill the gap.
