On Oct. 6 local time India's foreign ministry condemned an attack on a Panama‑flagged merchant vessel near Oman. The ship was struck while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Of 19 crew aboard, 17 are Indian; the attack injured 12 crew members, including 11 Indians. India said it is deeply concerned by continued attacks on merchant shipping in the area and urged an immediate halt to such incidents to preserve regional peace and stability.
