China International Capital Co (CICC) says A-shares may post a post-holiday opening rally. Pre-holiday weakness reflected multiple external headwinds; overseas markets were largely higher over the break and recent domestic economic data have been steady. CICC expects Q3 results after the holiday to provide some earnings support and forecasts investor confidence to recover in October, which could help fuel the rally.

Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Commission said monitored A-level attractions drew 9.10 million visits during the National Day holiday. Cultural and tourism spending accounted for 26.13% of total city consumption. Spending on dining, accommodation, transport, tourism, retail and entertainment rose YoY by 7.94%, 7.85%, 9.55%, 7.27%, 12.26% and 7.70%, respectively.
