EUR/CAD fell for a third straight session, trading around 1.5920 in European hours. German industrial output surprised to the upside in September, rising 2.0% MoM (market +0.5%), reversing an August -1.2% decline; on a YoY basis output rose 2.3% from -1.6%. Despite the strong data the euro remained under pressure amid risk-off flows as Middle East tensions pushed Brent crude back above $100/bbl, stoking concerns about energy-driven inflation and slower euro-area growth. Higher oil is supporting the commodity-linked Canadian dollar and weighing on EUR/CAD; if energy-supply risks keep oil elevated, CAD strength could continue to drag EUR/CAD lower.
