Pakistan and the IMF have reached a staff-level agreement that would unlock
about $1.2 bln in additional financing, subject to IMF Executive Board approval.
The deal envisages roughly $1.0 bln under the main loan program and $210 mln
from a separate climate fund, bringing total disbursements under the two
programs to about $5.7 bln. The IMF said Pakistan has maintained macro stability
despite high inflation and Middle East conflict-related energy price and supply
shocks, projects FY2026 growth at 3.6% and reported foreign exchange reserves of
roughly $21.5 bln as of end-September.
