President Trump said after talks with Russian President Putin that Russia will
immediately ship more than 300,000 tonnes of diesel to the US and global
markets, supply 500,000 tonnes in November, and then add a further 1,000,000
tonnes. He said Russia would also supply up to 3,000,000 tonnes in the short
term depending on refinery conditions. Trump said US control of the Strait of
Hormuz and the energy announcement will push US and global diesel prices sharply
lower, by record amounts. He also reiterated that Iran must never acquire
nuclear weapons.
