Effective today China’s domestic passenger fuel surcharge increases: adult fares set at 50 yuan per segment for routes ≤800 km and 90 yuan per segment for routes >800 km, up 10 yuan and 20 yuan respectively from previous levels. Infants are exempt; children, revolutionary-disabled veterans and police disabled on duty pay half the applicable rate. Previously issued domestic tickets that are changed today or later will not be charged the surcharge difference under the new standard.
