The UN special envoy for Yemen strongly condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia's civilian facilities, saying they represent a serious escalation and increase the situation's complexity. The envoy again called on the Houthis to stop attacks on Saudi civilian targets.

China's Defence Ministry said on Oct. 10 Senior Colonel Chen Xi that during CHINA's recent state visit to the US the two leaders agreed their militaries should maintain regular dialogue and improve crisis communication and prevention mechanisms. Chen said the Chinese military is willing to work with the US to implement that leaders' consensus by strengthening communication and dialogue, expanding exchanges and cooperation, properly managing differences and promoting a stable, healthy and sustainable military relationship to support a constructive strategic-stability relationship based on respect, fairness and equality.
