On Oct 11 (local time) the Australian government issued a travel advisory urging
citizens to avoid King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and to monitor
local security conditions. Canberra warned regional security risks could further
disrupt air traffic and advised travellers to follow updates from airlines and
local authorities. Saudi civil aviation authorities said in an early-hours
statement on Oct 11 that Riyadh’s international airport was attacked on Oct 10,
causing 12 deaths and 309 injuries.
