The International Organization for Migration said on Oct 11 a migrant vessel carrying about 350 people capsized off Djibouti, killing at least 109 and leaving at least 116 missing. Survivors—more than 80 people—are all Ethiopian nationals. The boat, en route from Djibouti to Yemen, overturned on the night of Oct 8-9 near Goubet north of Obock. IOM is assisting survivors and Djibouti authorities, together with IOM, are continuing search-and-rescue operations.
