At the International Energy Forum ministerial meeting, Japan’s minister of
economy, trade and industry Akazawa urged oil producers and consumers to deepen
cooperation to strengthen Asian oil stockpiles and infrastructure and improve
resilience to supply disruptions amid rising Middle East tensions. He said the
Asia Zero Emissions Community (AZEC) plans to deepen ties with producing
countries and enhance emergency coordination, and Japan aims to act as a bridge
between Middle Eastern producers and Asian states to support global energy
supply stability.
