Oct 12 CHINA's foreign ministry said it has announced countermeasures under the
PRC Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law against Paraguay's minister of communications and
technology and Belize's foreign minister, Fonseca. The ministry said the steps
respond to the officials' visits to Taiwan and their hosting of Taiwan
independence figures, and accused them of interfering in China's internal
affairs and spreading false claims of Chinese cyberattacks. The ministry
described the measures as punitive and meant to deter; it did not specify the
measures announced.
