Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz said at the World Petroleum Congress in Riyadh on Monday that Saudi Arabia is studying plans to raise pipeline export capacity to destinations beyond the Persian Gulf to about 10 mln bpd within two to three years to bolster supply resilience after sustained Houthi attacks on energy and aviation infrastructure. Measures include upgrading pump stations on the East‑West pipeline and converting a gas pipeline to crude service. The converted gas line could deliver about 1.2 mln bpd within seven to eight weeks of conversion and, with further investment, could be expanded to roughly 3.0 mln bpd. He noted the East‑West pipeline has become a key export route since the outbreak of the US–Iran war.
