Fed's HAMMACK says he has detected "early warning signals" that inflation expectations may be problematic.

Bank of Korea Governor Shin Hyun-sung said on the 12th the path of inflation is the primary consideration in interest-rate decisions. Speaking at a parliamentary finance and economy committee oversight hearing in Seoul, he was asked whether the central bank would hike again in October or November. Shin said the bank is especially concerned that inflation will hit low-income and vulnerable households hardest and that vulnerable borrowers are already feeling pressure from high rates. Markets take his comments to indicate the BOK will seek to balance containing inflation with easing the burden of high rates on households and firms.
