UK Maritime Trade Operations issued multiple notices reporting six vessels were
attacked on the 11th in the Strait of Hormuz and adjacent Gulf of Oman. In the
Strait, four tankers were struck by "unidentified projectiles" while exiting and
a container ship was hit while entering. Near the eastern entrance at Sohar
anchorage in the Gulf of Oman, a tanker was struck in a drone attack; local
authorities assisted crew evacuation. Since late September such attacks have
continued, casualties have risen and incidents have spread into waters off
Qatar, the UAE and Oman amid escalating US–Iran contestation over control of the
strait.
