Oil prices fell slightly on Tuesday as markets balanced supply risk from an
attack on Saudi Arabia against the prospect of added Russian diesel exports.
President Trump said Russia had agreed to supply diesel to global markets and
that his administration would temporarily lift sanctions on Russian fuel; US
bipartisan lawmakers said the deal appears to violate a US law banning imports
of Russian energy until the Russia‑Ukraine conflict ends. KCM Trade chief
analyst Tim Waterer said increased Russian diesel flows and steady Saudi
pipeline deliveries have eased some supply pressure, but markets remain
concerned about the risk of further attacks on Gulf vessels or pipelines.
