At a UN Security Council session on the 12th, Chinese Deputy Permanent Representative Sun Lei said China expects the Syrian transition government to take more practical measures to address international concerns and act in the interests of the Syrian people. Sun identified four priorities: political transition, terrorist threats, economic and livelihood issues, and sovereignty/security. China urged the transition authorities to maintain a firm anti‑terror stance and convert political commitments into concrete actions.
