On Oct. 13 at Huawei’s 2026 Terminal Innovation Technology briefing, the company
said the Kirin 9050 chip series — introduced with the Mate XT2 foldable and Mate
90 Pro Max flagship — has entered mass production. Xu Songyu, head of wireless
terminal chip product management in Huawei’s semiconductor unit, said cumulative
shipments of Kirin-based devices since 2023 have exceeded 100 million units.
Huawei called the 9050 rollout a key step in Kirin’s post-return roadmap toward
the next decade.
