The second meeting of the China‑EU Trade and Investment Consultations was held
in Beijing; both sides reached a series of consensuses. The China Chamber of
Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery and Electronic Products said it fully
supports the outcomes and highlighted agreement in the auto sector. On hybrid
vehicles, Beijing and Brussels reached an understanding on trade
arrangements—negotiated on principles of mutual respect and equal
consultation—that the chamber says accommodates industry concerns, provides a
stable, predictable and sustainable trade framework, and reduces the risk of
escalation while protecting Chinese firms’ interests. On electric vehicles, the
parties reviewed the anti‑subsidy price‑commitment guidance and will continue to
advance company price commitments and associated review procedures; the chamber
called this outcome positive for Chinese exporters’ legal rights to the EU
market.
