The Information reports a stealth startup building AI video tools for filmmakers is negotiating with OpenAI for rights to the Sora model, with plans to modify its capabilities and sell software or services built on it. The firm, founded months ago by Hollywood producer Jeffrey Katzenberg, former Sora research head Bill Peebles and a former Dropbox CFO, has not disclosed its name. It is unclear whether the startup will obtain Sora's model weights; insiders say a deal would likely include deep access sufficient for substantial customization.
