China Meteorological Administration activated a level-4 emergency response for a major meteorological disaster (rainstorm) at 10:00 on Oct 14. Forecasts project heavy to torrential rain in parts of southeastern Chongqing, northeastern Guizhou, southern Hubei, northern Hunan and northern Jiangxi on Oct 14–15, with isolated extreme downpours, short-duration intense rainfall and localized thunderstorms with strong convective winds. The Central Meteorological Observatory has issued a blue rainstorm warning.
