CSI 300 index futures (IF) most-active contract fell 0.60%; SSE 50 index futures (IH) fell 0.29%; CSI 500 index futures (IC) fell 0.35%; CSI 1000 index futures (IM) fell 0.53%.

The IMF said US economic growth alone is insufficient to quickly address rising government debt and fiscal deficits and that additional measures are required to improve the fiscal position. IMF Managing Director GEORGIEVA told the IMF-WBG annual meetings in Bangkok that the US government is very reliant on strong growth, but while higher growth helps, it cannot deliver fiscal adjustment quickly enough to offset high deficits, rising interest costs and expanding debt.

Economists polled by the Wall Street Journal expect US September CPI +0.6% MoM, +3.6% YoY; core CPI excluding food and energy forecast +0.2% MoM, +2.5% YoY. Tony Rodriguez, Nuveen head of fixed‑income strategy, said overall inflation will clearly rise driven by energy. "We have not yet seen this pressure transmit to core inflation, but the worry is that if this persists another two quarters it will begin to transmit to food and goods," he said. Rodriguez added that a 0.2% monthly rise in core CPI is not "large" but is enough to keep inflationary pressure alive and to continue to pressure the Fed to respond.
