China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX) said on Oct. 15 it is advancing a renminbi FX futures pilot under CSRC direction to ensure a smooth launch. CFFEX is also expanding foreign access: in April Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (QFIs) were enabled to trade government bond futures — 39 QFIs have registered government bond futures as an investable product and 11 QFIs have been granted hedging quotas — measures intended to attract more international allocation to China’s bond market.
