CSRC deputy director of futures regulation Zhang Yue said on Oct. 15 at the 2026 Shanghai Derivatives Market Forum that Chinese regulators will refine market-stability mechanisms and further improve the futures and options product mix, including cultivating foundational strategic contracts. Regulators will broaden room for industrial firms and long-term funds to use futures for risk management, promote spot–futures linkage and on‑exchange/off‑exchange coordination, and steadily widen opening of selected contracts. They will deepen overseas authorization of settlement prices and cross‑border delivery cooperation, strengthen full‑chain risk controls and cross‑agency supervision, and intensify crackdowns on illegal activity to protect investors’ legal rights.
