TSMC reported Q3 net profit rose 69% YoY to NT$763.1bn (≈$23.6bn), beating
analyst estimates. Quarterly revenue gained 51% YoY to $47.0bn, also above
expectations. The company said revenue growth has accelerated over the past two
quarters and it is speeding capacity expansion. TSMC reiterated this year's
capex could reach a record $64bn. Market forecasts for TSMC 2027 capex have
risen: Goldman sees $85bn, UBS $90bn, both above a $75bn institutional-survey
average. TSMC is moving to build and equip roughly 20 fabs domestically and
overseas simultaneously, versus a historical norm of four to five concurrent
plants.
