A Japan Finance Ministry official said on Thursday that G7 and G20 finance
leaders do not view the recent AI-driven market sell-off as posing an imminent
risk to financial stability. Discussions at this week’s IMF annual meeting in
Bangkok were based on the premise that the global economy has shown resilience
to external shocks, the official said. Policymakers nonetheless agreed they must
remain vigilant and address vulnerabilities that could trigger a systemic
crisis.
