On Oct. 15, Cuban Foreign Minister Rodríguez, on social media, condemned the US
decision to add the Cuban International Commercial Bank to its sanctions list,
calling US actions “provocative as always.” He said the bank’s transactions in
Cuba and globally are “absolutely legal” and argued the sanction signals US
intent to inflict maximum punishment on the Cuban people and to “close every
pressure‑relief valve” of the Cuban economy.
