Bank of England Governor Bailey said in Bangkok at an IIF conference that
although energy prices have jumped sharply, transmission to other UK goods and
services prices has so far been limited; he cautioned it is too early to draw
firm conclusions and that the evidence to date suggests the effect remains
fairly muted. The conference was held during the IMF and World Bank annual
meetings.
