Fed chair Kevin Warsh said Friday the Fed’s Special Working Group on Productivity and Employment will hold an in-person hearing on Nov. 16 in the San Francisco Bay Area to examine AI’s effects on economic activity and the labor market. Warsh announced the schedule at the IMF Annual Meetings in Bangkok. He formed five external-expert working groups in June to study key monetary-policy areas and said he expects them to submit policy recommendations around year-end. He made no comment on monetary policy or the US economic outlook.
