A drone struck an industrial site in the Surgut area of western Siberia in
Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, causing a fire, governor Ruslan Kukharuk said.
Emergency crews are on site and experts are assessing the scale and nature of
the damage; the targeted facility was not identified. Surgut, more than 2,130 km
northeast of Moscow, hosts multiple oil and gas installations; it is unclear
whether production or refining has been affected. The attack occurred after
Ukrainian President Zelenskiy ordered a resumption of strikes on Russian
refineries and ended a three-day pause in attacks; US President Trump has
recently limited intelligence support to Ukraine.
