At an EU summit in Brussels Zelenskiy requested the EU provide at least €70bln
next year, saying Ukraine’s war-related spending for 2027 is expected to reach
€155bln and that the funds are needed for defense, weapons and national
resilience. He urged a strong 22nd round of sanctions targeting firms and
individuals tied to Russian ballistic missile, advanced communications and drone
production. Zelenskiy said US restrictions on Starlink use are hampering
Ukraine’s ability to intercept Russian drones and that Ukraine and the US expect
to schedule a meeting in the coming days. He also criticized a US-Russia
“diesel” arrangement, saying it increases Russian revenues that could fund
military operations.
