The speaker of Yemen’s parliament wrote to his Egyptian counterpart urging Cairo
not to be drawn into a war he said contradicts Egypt’s values. He warned that
Egyptian involvement would pose a serious threat to national security and
internal stability, and urged Egypt to resist following Saudi government policy
to avoid dragging the region into wider turmoil.
