GCL Group and China Jurong Group signed an LNG engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and tolling/contracted-processing agreement in Ethiopia on Oct. 16, following meetings with the newly appointed Ethiopian mines minister. The signatories—GCL Energy Investment Co.’s Ethiopia branch and Jurong Group (Holdings) Co.—said they will combine capabilities in oil and gas exploration, LNG capacity build, storage and transport to accelerate project delivery and to deepen cooperation on energy technology, equipment manufacturing, cross-border trade and low‑carbon initiatives.

Mohsen Rezaee, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said on the 18th on social media that fevered rhetoric and repeated threats from US and Israeli officials have not changed battlefield realities. He said Iran's armed forces have drawn up contingency plans to respond to any possible new 'adventurist' acts; their destructive power would far exceed previous responses and new operational plans will not follow familiar rules.
