U.S. Secretary of State Rubio told reporters on Oct. 17 the U.S. military’s Starshield system has not been made available to Ukraine and usage arrangements remain under discussion. Responding to Ukrainian claims of restricted satellite communications, Rubio denied the U.S. government ordered a throttling of Starlink and said service has been restored. On recent violence in the West Bank, Rubio said the U.S. is deeply concerned, has urged Israel to crack down on the violence, and that President Trump has repeatedly said he does not want friction or a crisis there.
