Ukraine's president Zelenskiy is discussing arrangements for a peace conference with US presidential envoy Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Kushner.

President Trump said he is negotiating to end the Russia-Ukraine war and will avoid actions that would remove Russia from the negotiating table. He said talks are making significant progress, including hostage negotiations, and that he can delay signing any agreement — warning that signing the document Zelensky reportedly proposed (US air‑defense missile aid in exchange for a pledge not to strike Russian diesel facilities) would produce adverse outcomes and can be done later at his discretion. Trump added that Russia has offered little help to Iran and he intends to keep it that way unless others interfere. He accused Zelensky of targeting Russian diesel refineries, saying those strikes are severely disrupting global diesel markets including the US, while Russia continues to supply millions of barrels at low prices. He reiterated he wants the war to end.
