Nikkei reports that following Japan's easing of defense-equipment export restrictions and a rise in demand for naval vessels, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries plans to restart an idle shipbuilding production line at its Tamano shipyard in Okayama prefecture next year.

At its 2026 interim results briefing, Hillstone Networks said the company has a solid basis to meet full-year overseas segment performance targets. Management cited a mature, profitable Hong Kong and Macau base, incremental gains in Southeast Asia, export growth of higher‑margin products, tighter overseas cost control and local channel ecosystem synergies as drivers of sustained rapid growth and improving margins. The company said overseas operations are set to become a second growth curve and will support steady domestic and international development.
