Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohibbi said the United States no longer has the capability to launch a new conflict or extract gains, claiming most US bases in the region have lost combat effectiveness and US forces have withdrawn hundreds of kilometres from Iran. He said the US is technically and militarily unable to open a new round of hostilities but warned Washington could manufacture limited 'victories' ahead of its election. The IRGC said it is prepared to respond, that any retaliation will be tougher than before, and that even limited US military action would trigger a severe global energy crisis.
