At an Oct. 20 press briefing the National Development and Reform Commission said
it and its private‑economy bureau have held 800+ direct meetings with private
firms over the past three years, while provincial, municipal and county
development and reform departments have run more than 45,000 private‑enterprise
forums. The NDRC said it will continue the forums, guide local authorities to
broaden exchanges so firms across industries and development stages can raise
concerns and policy proposals, and ramp up handling of submissions to resolve
common bottlenecks and improve the business environment for private enterprises.
