JP Morgan estimated on Tuesday that most global banks have limited exposure to
CoreWeave after the NVIDIA-backed cloud firm's shares and bonds plunged last
week amid investor concern over its debt financing. JP Morgan said U.S.
bulge‑bracket banks and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group could have potential
exposure of $1.0bn–$3.0bn, while most European and Asian participants are
exposed to less than $500m. Much of the exposure is via delayed‑draw term loans
held through special‑purpose entities, with funds released as projects hit
milestones; JP Morgan said lenders’ exposures appear well managed and heavily
collateralized.
