MIIT chief engineer Wang Weiming said the ministry will systematically advance
upgrades and capability jumps of national advanced manufacturing clusters using
layered, classified measures. For clusters with strong international
competitiveness, the focus will be on boosting innovation resources,
strengthening the capacity to originate innovation and improving global
resource-allocation capabilities to accelerate their move toward world-class
status. For clusters in an accelerated growth phase, policy will target closing
shortfalls, reinforcing strengths, bolstering leading firms and optimizing
ecosystems to convert development potential into core competitiveness.
