Oil prices fell after reports that the US and Iran gave preliminary approval to a mediation proposal. Brent crude dropped over 2% to $104.78/bbl; WTI traded at $96.18/bbl, down nearly 2% intraday.

Paris police said the limited curfew imposed after weekend violent protests will remain in force Tuesday night and may be extended as necessary. Curfew runs 2300–0600 local time, covering Place de la République and the Hôtel de Ville (City Hall) area.

NVIDIA (NVDA.O) said it used Germany’s JUPITER supercomputer with 8,192 GPUs to simulate a 104‑qubit fault‑tolerant quantum computing system and validate a magic‑state distillation technique. NVIDIA said the method could reduce the number of physical qubits needed for fault‑tolerant quantum computing by about 90% and cut the simulation time from weeks to days. The company said the advance helps researchers test and optimise quantum designs earlier, but significant technical challenges to practical deployment remain.
