Two people familiar with the matter told foreign media that OpenAI is racing to secure investor commitments for a roughly $30 bln funding round, aiming to close before rival Anthropic’s expected mid-November IPO. The expedited push is intended to lock in capital as both frontier AI firms compete for the same investor base and could lift OpenAI’s valuation above $1.4 tln. SoftBank Group, Abu Dhabi-based MGX and other existing investors are in talks to participate, and OpenAI is pitching recent revenue from a new model to attract support.
