Qatar said that despite rising tensions and concerns about renewed fighting, negotiations between Iran and the United States remain underway and both sides are actively engaged, Qatari foreign ministry spokesman Majedal-Ansari said at the Global Security Forum in Doha. He said, "Talks on the JCPOA are still underway; we see both sides actively engaged." He stressed the importance of confidentiality, adding, "The fact that the outside world has not heard related reports precisely shows we are properly carrying out our duties."

MIIT deputy minister Xin Guobin said at the World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference in Beijing that China will back leading firms to form innovation consortia focused on energy powertrains, intelligent chassis and connected-vehicle systems. Beijing will push rollout and enforcement of mandatory national standards for autonomous driving, accelerate standards work on automated parking, operational monitoring and data security, and speed issuance of regulations tightening automotive product innovation design and R&D testing/validation. The ministry said it will actively engage in international trade and technical rulemaking to align domestic standards with global rules and support deeper Sino-foreign R&D and industrial cooperation to develop exportable products.
