Trump signed an executive order on Thursday temporarily suspending planned
national-security tariffs on wind turbines and components and directing the U.S.
Trade Representative and the Commerce secretary to consult trading partners and
submit a report within 180 days. The order notes some turbines and parts remain
subject to existing aluminum, copper and steel tariffs, instructs officials to
pursue agreements or continue ongoing negotiations to address imports, and says
the administration may consider additional remedies depending on the talks'
progress or outcomes.
