On Oct 23, China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) said it will
step up policy support for the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) sector,
optimize regulatory models and evaluation methods, and refine its guidance
framework. The agency said it will advance review-and-approval reform,
strengthen whole-chain supervision, bolster TCM innovation and R&D, promote
conversion of classic prescriptions and hospital TCM formulations into new drug
registrations, and broaden natural-product drug development pathways.
