Amazon (AMZN.O) Chief Executive Andy Jassy said AWS cloud computing capacity is essentially sold out through the end of 2027, with a substantial backlog of orders extending into 2028 as AI infrastructure demand rises. He said Amazon is working to scale supply to meet demand from AI labs and enterprise customers.

The UK will invest about £600m (about $800m) in AI safety targeting biological, health and cyber threats, the government said. Planned allocations include £100m to build an AI biosecurity laboratory, £65m for pathogen-response R&D, £120m for the existing AI Safety Institute, £130m to strengthen cyber defenses for critical infrastructure and the wider economy, and £60m to support AI-driven robotics, automation and manufacturing firms, alongside funding for AI research, chip design, medical policy innovation and local AI projects. OpenAI and Anthropic will provide up to £200m of model-use credits, and Google DeepMind and other firms will also contribute support.

China recorded 6.7651 mln marriage registrations in 2025 (including first and remarriages), up 10.8% YoY, the China Statistical Yearbook 2026 compiled by the National Bureau of Statistics shows. First marriages totaled 10.4233 mln and remarriages 3.1069 mln; first marriages rose by 1.251 mln YoY and topped 10 mln again. Guangdong recorded 1.009 mln first marriages, the only province above 1 mln. First marriages are more closely linked to birth trends than remarriages.
