President Trump, at a campaign rally in Georgia, defended his tariff policy and
said tariffs have made the U.S. richer. He announced Volkswagen Group will
invest $4.2 billion to build an Audi assembly plant in the state, which he said
will produce about 200,000 cars a year and called "the largest single investment
in the U.S. auto industry's modern history." He added the deal "would not have
happened without tariffs."
