Singapore PM Wong pledged increased support for workers and families and said
the government will step up efforts to secure energy supplies and attract
investment amid rising global uncertainty. Speaking at the People’s Action Party
conference, Wong said major semiconductor firms are keen to expand in Singapore
and artificial intelligence companies are establishing operations. He
acknowledged growth’s benefits remain uneven—some workers are struggling with
rising living costs and others worry about job security—and said the government
must ensure growth translates into better living standards for all Singaporeans.
