Iran’s acting oil minister said Iran will use the Gas Exporting Countries Forum
(GECF) summit in Moscow to press for closer gas cooperation with Russia and
other members, prioritizing oil and gas field development, gas swaps and
coordinated export policies. He said Iran will present its position, hold
bilateral ministerial talks and push discussions on protecting energy
infrastructure during wartime, expanding gas swaps, exploring a common market
and coordinating international export policy. He added Iran has signed oil and
gas field development contracts with Russian energy firms and is negotiating
gas-swap agreements.
